Began in 1895 as St. George’s Mission and functioned as an operation of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Scranton.  In 1908 a church was built and consecrated as St. George’s Episcopal Church.  In 1990 the church merged with St. James Episcopal Church in Jermyn to become St. James & St. George Episcopal Church.  The church retained the building in Jermyn.

Formed in 1912, meeting in the old Centennial Schoolhouse. Originally a mission church of St. Luke’s, meeting only in the summer.  In 1922 became Church of the Epiphany.
