While the names of the members of this year's High school graduating class have not yet been made public, excepting the honor students, it is known that about one hundred and twenty students will graduate. This is one of the biggest classes ever graduated at the school.

Professor Welles, principal of the High school, will give the list of graduates Monday or Tuesday of next week. The papers of several of the students who were late in taking the final examinations are yet to be marked. This is being done today.

Miss Helen Gates, daughter of Dr. L. M. Gates, carried off the honors of the class and will deliver the valedictory address at the commencement Friday night of next week. The exercises will be held in the High school auditorium. The class exercises will be held Thursday night, while on Wednesday night the training school graduates will hold their exercises.

The graduating class, boys and girls, will wear the regulation black gowns and mortar caps, this having been directed by a resolution of the board. The presentation of flowers or bouquets to members of the class at the exercises will not be allowed.

President Gibbons will present the diplomas, which are now being prepared by P. W. Costello.

One hundred and twenty boys and girls will be graduated from the high school on Friday night. President Gibbons, of the board of control, will present the diplomas. The valedictory address will be made by Miss Helen May Gates, daughter of Dr. L. M. Gates, who carried off the honors of the class. Mill Marion Chalmers Hill, of North Scranton, will be the salutatorian. She was second highest in the class. Both young ladies took up the college preparatory course.

The final examinations were only concluded a few days ago. This year’s class is the third largest that has ever been graduated from the school. The class of 1901 was the largest, with 142, and last year’s class second, with 129 graduates. This is the second class to be graduated under Professor Wells.

The honors in the class nearly all went to the girls, but one boy carrying off honors. Miss Olwen Jones is the honor graduate in the scientific course; Dorothy Susan Scheuer in the general course; and Abraham Shapiro in the commercial department.
