The intersection of Jackson and North Main. The arrow points to the building on the right - the Hyde Park Bank at the time. The corner later became the West Side Bank. Michael J. Lewis provided the following information in 2019: "According to the German-language newspaper, the Scranton Wochenblatt, the architect of the bank was Max Gaerte (July 24, 1873). Gaerte was a German-American architect who had an office in Scranton from 1871 to 1873, and several of his buildings are mentioned in the German newspapers."
