This list of known burials is still short compared to the thousands interred in this large cemetery. Version 2, released in Oct. 2003, contained 1,376 entries.  In the four years since the list has grown to 3,687.  It is made from a variety of sources including newspaper obits, gravestones, and registrations of deaths within the city and county, and contributions from other researchers.  As such it is subject to the common errors made in publishing and the lack of information contained in early newspapers.

Location information where included is based upon the official plot plan by section only.  If it was made from areas canvassed, the rows are numbered going away from Washburn Street (south is higher) and the markers counted starting on the east and increasing to the west.

If you have relatives buried in Washburn Street and wish to add them to this list, please post to the Lackawanna Mailing List in a text format with the subject as “Washburn Street burials”.  Attachments will not be accepted.  Don't worry if you don't have all the details, eventually it is intended to canvas the cemetery to transcribe tombstones and investigate the remaining official records.  Should you find any such errors, please notify me by posting to the list, and I will get them corrected in the next submission.

For those able to borrow microfilm, the LDS has one of a tombstone project done around 1940 for this cemetery. It too is not complete but stands as a source of information not available anywhere else.
